We were tired of “AI side hustle” guides written by people who’d never built one.
That’s the simple version of why Hidden Hustles HQ exists.
The longer version: the AI side hustle space in 2026 is loud. Every YouTuber promises six-figure passive income from a faceless channel they “built” over a weekend. Every blog has a “Top 10 AI tools” listicle stuffed with affiliate links and zero hands-on testing. Every newsletter sells a course that teaches you to make a course.
We wanted to write the version we couldn’t find — practical, honest, calm. Tools we’ve actually paid for. Numbers that match real dashboards, not affiliate marketing screenshots. A guide that tells you when to skip a tool, when the free tier is enough, and when the best option is one we don’t earn commission on.
That last part matters. When the best tool in a category isn’t one we’re affiliated with, we say so. It’s surprisingly rare in this space, and we think it’s the difference between content worth reading and content worth ignoring.
Who’s behind this
Hidden Hustles HQ is a small UK-based team. The site, the writing, and the experiments are led by Charlie Brooks — a long-time AI enthusiast based in England who’s been quietly building, breaking, and testing AI tools since the early generative wave.
We’re staying faceless on purpose. The site is about faceless content businesses, and we’d be hypocrites to plaster our faces across every page while writing about how to build one without yours. Form should match function.
What this means in practice: the writing voice is collective (“we”), the recommendations come from collective testing, and the channel experiments belong to the team. If you email us, you’ll get a reply from a real person — usually Charlie, sometimes another member of the team — but we won’t be doing podcast tours or LinkedIn thought-leadership. Just the writing.
Why you can trust what we publish
We want to be careful with this section, because trust on the internet is mostly performed and rarely earned. Three things we can honestly offer:
1. We tell you what we don’t know. You’ll find phrases like “we haven’t tested this one personally” or “we have no affiliate on this — recommendation stands anyway” scattered through the site. We’d rather flag uncertainty than fake authority.
2. We use what we recommend. The £37/month tool stack on the AI Tools pillar is what we actually pay for, not what would maximise affiliate commissions. The faceless YouTube channel referenced throughout the site is real — small, slow-growing, and entirely built with the workflow described in the Faceless YouTube guide.
3. We disclose every commercial relationship. Every affiliate link is tagged. Every page that earns commission says so. Our full affiliate disclosure lists every tool we earn from and every tool we recommend without earning. Read both lists — the “no commission” one is the more interesting one.
We’re not certified. We don’t have a credential to wave. We’re builders writing about what we build, with all the limits that implies — and, hopefully, all the honesty that comes with it.
What we’ve built so far
Hidden Hustles HQ is new. We’re not pretending otherwise.
The site itself has been in active build through 2026, with the homepage, landing pages, and pillar guides going live this year. Our first faceless YouTube channel is in early days — videos published, subscribers small, monetisation months away. We document the build as we go, including the parts that don’t work.
We mention this here because most “About” pages on AI side hustle sites quietly imply years of hidden expertise. Ours doesn’t. If you read this in 2026, you’re getting in early. If you read this in 2028 and it still says “early days,” ignore us — we should’ve updated it.
What you can expect from this site
A few promises about what gets published here:
- Practical guides over hype. If a guide doesn’t tell you what to actually do on Tuesday, we haven’t done our job.
- Realistic numbers. When we cite earnings, watch hours, or growth rates, they come from real creator-reported data or our own dashboards. No “I made $50K my first month” claims.
- Tool reviews based on use, not specs. If a tool is on the site, someone on the team has paid for it and used it. If it’s mentioned but not endorsed, we say so.
- Honest disclosure throughout. Every commercial link tagged, every recommendation transparent about whether commission is involved, every “we don’t know” stated plainly.
- No course funnels. We may eventually create educational products, but the primary site won’t become a free-content-as-funnel-for-paid-course operation. The free content is the product.
How affiliate income works here
Some links on Hidden Hustles HQ are affiliate links. If you click one and buy the product, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We use this income to keep the site free and to fund testing of new tools.
We’re affiliated with about a dozen tools, including ElevenLabs, Epidemic Sound, Descript, InVideo AI, CapCut, Kittl, and a few others. We’re not affiliated with several tools we still actively recommend — most notably ChatGPT, Canva, DaVinci Resolve, and Midjourney. The recommendations don’t change based on commission. The disclosure does.
The full breakdown is on the affiliate disclosure page.
Get in touch
The fastest way to reach us is email: info@hiddenhustleshq.com
We read everything. We can’t always reply quickly, but real questions get real answers. We especially want to hear from you if:
- You’ve spotted something on the site that’s wrong, outdated, or unclear
- You’ve tried a workflow we wrote about and it failed (or worked spectacularly — both useful)
- You’ve built something faceless you’d like us to feature
- You’ve found a tool we should be testing
- You think we’re full of it about something specific
We’d rather be told we’re wrong than be quietly wrong forever.
